Catdoku

Dive into Catdoku, a fresh logic puzzle blending Sudoku rules with stubborn cats. Master rows, columns, colors, and space limits to win every board.

About Catdoku!

Catdoku takes a classic Sudoku concept and makes it much cuter. Your goal is simple: find the right spots for a bunch of cats. Every single row needs one cat. Every column needs one too. Colored zones have their own rule, meaning each distinct area must hold a single cat.

Then you have to deal with their attitude. Cats hate company. They will not sit right next to each other, and diagonal contact is completely banned.

Catdoku: Finding the Right Space

Where to Begin Your Move

Random tapping gets you nowhere. Look for sections of the board that give you the fewest options.

Grab a colored region with only two open cells left. Check them against their matching rows and columns. If one choice is blocked, the other spot is usually your answer.

  • Double-click a cell to drop a cat.
  • Single-click to leave a cross on bad cells.
  • Click again to wipe the mark away.

Crosses save your run. Small boards are easy to track in your head, but larger grids demand notes. Marking dead ends keeps your eyes sharp and prevents careless mistakes.

The Chain Reaction of One Placement

Dropping a single cat shifts the entire board. That row and column lock down instantly. That color zone is officially done. Thanks to the personal space rule, the eight surrounding cells turn into forbidden ground.

This triggers a domino effect. A cramped row suddenly leaves you with only one open slot. Take a breath after every move. Scan the neighboring rows and regions before jumping to your next square.

Watch Out for Diagonal Traps

Diagonal placement catches almost everyone off guard. A cat locks down every cell touching it directly, including all four diagonal corners.

A cell can fit the row, column, and color rules but still fail because of a diagonal cat. After each move, check the nearby cells.

How to Make Catdoku Puzzle Easier

Find tight spots first. They usually give clearer clues.

Use X marks to remove bad cells and keep the board clean.

Check the grid again after placing a cat. One move can change other rows.

Watch the color areas. Do not focus only on rows and columns.

Stuck between two cells? Leave them and look for another clue.
